Inside Morocco people dial the first line, with the 0. From anywhere else, drop that 0 and put the country code in front. The digits in the middle do not change. A call that “does not exist” is often this, not a dead phone. Send only the second line to family abroad. The full habit is in prepaid SIM notes.

Morocco has stayed on this offset through the year since 2018. London, Paris, and New York still move for daylight saving, so the gap changes even when Casablanca does not. Write the Moroccan hour first.
The name on the screen
IAM, Orange Morocco, or inwi means the phone found that radio network. If the SIM is from home, the bill still comes from the company that issued it. This publication is not that company, and not a shop for any of them.

A lane between thick walls, a Casablanca stairwell, and open dunes do not share a signal. Full bars can still mean a crowded site. The practical check is one call where you will stand, then one message if the call fails. That sequence is written out in the signal note.
